Safeguarding children, empowering communities.

Together, we create a safe space for every child.

A school is not just a building. The city is not just a place. They are communities, made up of children and adults together. We can all do a lot to make sure the children around us are well and safe. The NEMECSEK Program was created so that everyone knows how to prevent abuse and what to do when a child is being hurt. Whether it’s a nursery, school, sports club or even a local authority, our professional materials, training and development of a child safequarding policy will help you create a safe community.

Where is the line?

What should I do if I am abused? What can I do if anyone else is abused? When and who can I ask for help? How can I prevent abuse? As a child or as a professional working with children there are many questions and dilemmas that emerge within the communities. Emerging conflicts are various, their solution is not always so easy, but they have one thing in common: each case offers the possibility to do something better next time.

Our results

We can mention many numbers regarding the NEMECSEK Program, however we prefer not to measure its success by counting them. Our aim is that no name of any children will be written in lowercase letters, as it happened with the name of Ernő Nemecsek (in the book of The Paul Street Boys) . And we also want adults to realize in time if a child needs more attention within the community.

Our colleagues

Ágnes Végerbauer-Rosta

NEMECSEK Programme - professional staff member

Ági is the other psychologist of the NEMECSEK Programme, but of course she also supports the other programmes with her expertise. She is in charge of managing our cooperation with the local authorities, she is a speaker at many of our training courses and she also helps people who come to us for counselling. Within the NEMECSEK Programme, her main area of expertise is bullying in schools, on which she has produced many technical papers and articles.

Barbara Vásárhelyi-Kiss

Communication and Project Manager

Bari is a colleague of ours who in the past would surely have been called a polyhistor. He is the one who is “involved” in almost every campaign and ongoing case. He solves everything, manages everything and figures it all out. He manages projects, forges communication plans, brainstorms, designs, organises, posts, writes press releases, takes photos and tries to smile as much as possible.

Gergely Vaskuti

NEMECSEK Programme - Professional Leader

Gergő is another NEMECSEK programme leader – he and Kata and Bari make a great team. They mainly help communities such as schools, sports clubs, children’s homes to make it better and safer for children through presentations, trainings and joint thinking. Of course, he is also involved in other Foundation programmes; he is always happy to help with constructive thoughts, funny ideas and great questions.

Kata Stáhly

NEMECSEK Programme - Professional Leader

As one of the leaders of our NEMECSEK Programme, Kata works every day to make children and their communities feel safe. Of course, Kata is not only involved with NEMECSEK, her expertise, observations and ideas permeate the entire operation of the foundation. She joined the Foundation five years ago, mainly giving lectures, training courses, writing articles and posts, and working as a psychologist on child protection issues.
