We are with you

We are working to ensure that every child is well and feels safe.

We were all children

The first 18 years of our lives are crucial, and children’s rights ensure these years can be as positive as possible. While laws define what children are entitled to, it’s ultimately adults—those who listen, care, and truly understand the unique, irreplaceable nature of childhood—who bring these rights to life. We work for and with children, striving to make Hungary a better place for every child.

Our colleagues

Anna Glatz

Child participation staff member

Anna volunteered for six months from Germany, and after her return she joined our Children’s Rights Centre and the Children’s Participation Programme as a coordinator. She has a degree in International Studies and is currently studying to become a lawyer, so without her knowledge and experience our team would not be the same.

Barbara Vásárhelyi-Kiss

Communication and Project Manager

Bari is a colleague of ours who in the past would surely have been called a polyhistor. He is the one who is “involved” in almost every campaign and ongoing case. He solves everything, manages everything and figures it all out. He manages projects, forges communication plans, brainstorms, designs, organises, posts, writes press releases, takes photos and tries to smile as much as possible.

Dóri Merényi

Associate for children's rights

Dóri joined us as a volunteer in November 2022. She is now a core member of our team as a Children’s Rights Worker. She is in charge of the Foundation’s education programme, where she not only organises online and in-person trainings, but is also a presenter. She is the implementer of the Hintalovon Academy and helps out wherever she can. Her aim is to ensure that as many professionals as possible are aware of children’s rights and can put them into practice. Her diplomatic degree and her human rights training, which she studied in the Netherlands, enable her to join international cooperation projects in addition to the academy.

dr. Dominika Rácz

Lawyer

Midi works as a children’s rights advisor and helps with the legal tasks related to specific programmes. Like the others, she strongly believes that if more people listen to children in the way they need, they can become happier children and then balanced adults. As well as being a lawyer, she is also a talented photographer and is always happy to take and send us pictures to use on social media or our website.

Era Rácz

Office Manager

Era is a bit like the Foundation’s mum – quietly, quickly, efficiently and with a smile, she gets a lot done, making everyone’s job a lot easier. She manages invoices and contracts, collates and mails donation shop orders, prepares financial statements, liaises with accountants, pro bono offices, donors and trustees, runs our central email address, keeps the office neat and tidy and bakes the most delicious poppy seed cookies.

Karolina Balogh

Research expert

Kata Stáhly

NEMECSEK Programme - Professional Leader

As one of the leaders of our NEMECSEK Programme, Kata works every day to make children and their communities feel safe. Of course, Kata is not only involved with NEMECSEK, her expertise, observations and ideas permeate the entire operation of the foundation. She joined the Foundation five years ago, mainly giving lectures, training courses, writing articles and posts, and working as a psychologist on child protection issues.

Kinga Rohrböck

Managing Director

Kinga holds an essential position in the Foundation: she is our Executive Director. Since joining the team, she has been unstoppable; she is constantly planning, brainstorming, optimising, strategising and implementing for the well-being and success of the Foundation, as well as doing her bit in fundraising.

Lilla Buday-Palotay

Children's participation programme coordinator

Lilla is a pillar of the Foundation, together with Anna, Sofie, Viki (and of course the Minor Colleagues and their volunteers) they make up the super team of the Children’s Participation Programme. She believes 1000% in involving children in decisions about them and works towards this goal with great creativity and dedication every day. Her name is often mentioned in articles on our English website, but she is also responsible for a lot of material in Hungarian.

Zsófia Gulyás-Balázs

Fundraising Manager

Although Zsófi is officially a fundraiser, the communications team would simply be unthinkable without her. There’s almost nothing she can’t do: writing newsletters, making videos, managing a website, but mostly she thinks and works on how to get more supporters to the Foundation.

Our Kid Colleagues (KiCo)

Our team includes volunteers aged 13–17. Though minors, they’re truly our colleagues, advising us and participating in training, conferences, and sometimes even taking on press interviews. They help us bring children’s perspectives into our work, aiming to raise awareness of child rights and make adults more receptive to young voices.

Sometimes we ask them for advice. Sometimes we go together to give a training course, or to present at a conference, or they do the interviews for us in the press.

They help us to bring children's perspectives into our own work.

The goal of the KiCo's is for children to know their rights and for adults to take better into account children's opinions.

Our volunteers

When we started in 2015, only six people were brainstorming ways to make Hungary a better place for children. Since then, our core team has doubled, and over 100 volunteers now assist us daily.

Different roles

All our programmes are supported by volunteers. All ages and many different disciplines are represented. There are lawyers, translators, web editors, SEO consultants, designers. Some co-ordinate a research project, others bring envelopes and help with the post (to make sure you get the Hintalovon present you choose from the donation shop on time).

Diversity is our strength

We are diverse, from many different backgrounds. Our diversity is our strength, and the belief that with the help and support of child rights, we can all do our part to ensure that the children living with and around us are well.
