In 2024, Hintalovon Academy reached over 8,000 learners with new trainings on children’s rights, sex education, and child protection. Feedback shows our programs give real, practical support to adults working with children.
In 2024, the professional trainings previously launched continued, and we continuously refined and developed them based on feedback and current social challenges. During the year, we created eight new e-learning courses. These included trainings made available to all responsible adults, as well as courses developed for institutions as internal child rights training. We are especially delighted that several foundations working with children have already integrated Hintalovon Academy’s trainings into the onboarding process for new employees.
Number of registered learners in 2024: 8,329
Professionals in the social sector and lawyers can continue to participate in our accredited trainings, for which they can earn professional credit points. For all other participants, we issue a certificate of completion for the courses.
Parents and Responsible Adults
From the very planning stage of the Academy, it was an important goal to eventually offer trainings specifically addressing parents, helping them handle everyday parenting challenges and crises. At the same time, it is part of our mission not only to discuss children’s rights in the context of parenthood or professional work, but also to raise awareness across society as a whole of the responsibility we all share as adults in shaping the world of children.
In this spirit, in February 2024, we launched our e-learning course “What Is Pedophilia, and What Are the Most Important Things to Know About Sexual Violence Against Children?” which immediately sparked tremendous interest. In the summer, we released the course “Why Is Sex Education Important? Part 1,” followed in the fall by “Help, We’re Divorcing! How Is the Child Doing? Part 1,” focusing on the impact of divorce on children.
New Initiatives
In the second half of 2024, we launched a special project in cooperation with law firms and our Kid Colleagues, aimed at developing a child-friendly lawyer training program. Through online and in-person workshops, we worked on how lawyers can best support children during hearings.
We also expanded our training portfolio with additional topics. We developed comprehensive e-learning courses on the importance of sex education, divorce, and the principles of trauma-sensitive journalism, all of which remain available to anyone interested.
Feedback and Results
Impact assessment and consideration of feedback are especially important to us, as these form the basis on which we fine-tune and further develop our trainings. We also integrate this approach into our new programs to meet participants’ needs as effectively as possible.
It is particularly inspiring to receive feedback showing that our work truly provides tangible support for adults working with children.
